Bryce Canyon 2022
In lieu of a classic registry, we ask our guests who kindly wish to give us a wedding gift to do so via our honeymoon fund (thank you!!). We want to go on an adventure, and we would love your support as we outfit our expedition.
And you may ask yourself (and/or us), “What is this adventure Daniel and Payton have planned?” Well… we each have a main objective.
Daniel really really really really really wants to see a giraffe in all their ungainly splendor and Payton wants to test her (and by extension, Daniel’s) mettle with a long drive through nothingness.
The center of this venn-diagram is Namibia. Located in the south-west “corner” of Africa, Namibia is home to Etosha National Park – a premier safari destination. Daniel will surely witness the awkward majesty of a galloping giraffe with their blue tongue and weird little horns among the avian, reptilian, and other mammalian life that inhabits the park.
Along the ocean is the Skeleton Coast, so named because of the bleached bones of whales and seals that litter the coastline interspersed with the remnants of unlucky ships. This place, known as the “Land God Made In Anger” by indigenous peoples or the “The Gates of Hell” by Portuguese explorers has captured Payton’s imagination. We can only speculate on why she desires to venture through this abyssal land.
And because we are nothing if not predictable… we will finish our trip with a leisurely tour of the Cape Winelands in South Africa.
Though it might seem trite, your presence at our nuptials is the true gift. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
